Clarification needed on 101.1

There is a point under objective 101.1 that needs to be clarified or modified. That point is "Set the correct hardware ID for different devices, especially the boot device" As part of a study group, I see confusion as to what is meant by the hardware id: is it the SCSI id, or is it a partition name like /dev/hda1, or does it refer to the major/minor numbers in device files? As for setting the ID, does this refer to choosing the correct boot device in the BIOS setup screens, or to something configured in GRUB, or somewhere else?

Answer #1: It's SCSI IDs. Along with some pitfalls in assigning them when using multiple drives (hence the boot device reference).
